Position: Inside Sales Professional
SOS Office Supply has an open position for an inside salesperson passionate about a career path in sales. Must be a committed and profit and growth-oriented individual. This is a commission based plus bonus position with a guaranteed draw.
Territory is in the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan Metro area. Candidate must live in this area. This is a new position in a start-up department. We are hoping to grow to 4 inside sales professionals within a year. Your role is identical to outside sales with the exception of working exclusively by phone and email. Work is to be conducted from our office in Grand Rapids and hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Summary:
Our goal is to be relationship based with customers relying on our superior service levels, product knowledge, order completion rates and competitive pricing. Not only is the Inside Sales Professional to fulfill the job description, but bring to the company ideas to enhance sales and productivity. All Sales Professionals report directly to the Sales Manager and work closely with other team members. Responsible for all sales and marketing activities in assigned area.
- Create new business utilizing your skills and the SOS training process.
- Maintain the relationship with new business you’ve created and cultivate the sales to include all office areas (office supplies, technology supplies, janitorial and break-room products, furniture and equipment.) and Corporate branded Identity products
- Utilize mail lists and referrals in order to maintain a consistent flow of qualified prospects to contact.
- Through data collection and analysis develop an excellent knowledge base of territory focusing on existing and available business opportunities.
- Analyze new and existing accounts to achieve the mutually accepted sales goals as approved by management.
- Profit margins must be maintained as projected by management.
- Spend time maintaining account relationship by a combination of phone calls, email and mail. The approximate amount of time will be determined by territory.
- Ensure all customers are up to date with catalogs for the current year.
- Ensure all supporting marketing materials are distributed timely, and are effective tools.
- Add as many customers as possible to internet ordering to utilize this cost saving tool.
- Maintain pricing programs that keep us competitive with our customers.
- Responsible for cross selling multi categories to existing customers.
- Re-activate inactive accounts.
- Ensure all customers are up to date with catalogs for the current year.
- Responsible for the timely return of products not wanted by customers by following procedures and completing paperwork so items can be restocked.
- Attend regular meetings with the purpose of education in product knowledge, selling techniques, and territory updates.
- Business to business selling experience preferred. Will train motivated sales and profit-oriented individuals.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
- Must possess the drive and work ethic to succeed.
- Must be able to quickly understand our product categories, policies and procedures.
- Computer skills to utilize Microsoft Office Products with the ability to be trained on and utilize a customer relation management system Goldmine and proprietary software.
